TABLE III: The Complication Table

This table is the story machine wildcard. If you want to keep the story going, you can introduce a new villainy or lack anywhere in the story sequence.

There are three types of hero in any tale or story: the victimized hero, who gets injured by the villain; the empty hero, who lacks something; and the seeker hero, who gets called by the dispatcher to rescue the princess or seek vengeance for a grievous wrong.  Each type of hero goes through a different sequence of events during the complication.
